Volunteer in Central America
Come experience a cultural immersion while participating in a volunteer program! ELI partners with local organizations in Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala to match volunteers with local organizations. All placements are made on an individual basis depending on the skills and goals of the volunteer, the needs of the organization, and the length of the program. Possible volunteer projects include animal rescue, turtle breeding, at-risk youth, teaching, adult-education, special needs kids, construction, environmental conservation and more! ELI can arrange Spanish classes in conjunction with a project to make sure participants get the most out of their program!
Volunteer in Central America with ELI Cost: Program fees start at $885. The cost will depend on the country and duration of the program. Program fees include airport pickup, accommodation, and meals.
Dates: Programs are available throughout the year and dates are flexible.

Volunteer Teach in Honduras
Bilingual Education for Central America (BECA) is a 501©(3) founded in 2002 to provide high quality education to low-income communities in Honduras and to promote meaningful cultural exchange. BECA supports three K-through-9 bilingual schools in northern Honduras. Each school has significant community ownership and deep parent involvement. Our model is built on partnership between Hondurans committed to high quality, progressive education and volunteers interested in truly authentic cultural immersion. We provide our volunteers with a challenging, transformative experience that gives an in-depth understanding of grassroots international development, underserved Central American communities, bilingual teaching strategies, and community capacity building techniques.
  Dates: July 2019 – June 2020.
Cost:
There is no fee to volunteer with BECA. Our volunteers only cover their own airfare to/from Honduras and health insurance costs.
