The Middle East continues to be a politically volatile region, with a relatively small number of American expatriates. The recent escalation of conflict in Lebanon has put at risk an estimated 25,000 American, 40,000 Canadian and 12,000 British expatriates, and shows just how easily the fragile peace in the Middle East is threatened. On the other hand, the oil-rich countries on the Persian Gulf continue to attract a sizeable expatriate community from North America and Europe. Among the most popular destinations are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
TransitionsAbroad.com has compiled the best country-by-country resources for current expatriates and those who dream of moving and living abroad.
