Taiwan Intensive Summer Language Program (TISLP)
TISLP enables dedicated students of Mandarin Chinese to complete a year's worth of academic study in only eight weeks. The program is hosted by the Chinese Language Center at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan. As a welcoming, accessible, and convenient society rich in diverse cultures, natural scenery, delicious cuisine, and ancient traditions, Taiwan is an ideal place for students of Mandarin to rapidly strengthen their language skills and cultural understanding.
TISLP combines twenty hours of weekly small group and one-on-one language instruction with regular cultural workshops, excursions, interactions with language partners, and a weekend homestay with local host families to create a truly immersive learning environment.
Tradition and Modernity in Taiwan Program
Explore Chinese language and culture while discovering the unique history, influences, and challenges that shape one of Asia's most vibrant democracies.
This four-week program provides students with an immersive introduction to Mandarin Chinese and hands-on coursework in the history, culture, politics, and contemporary issues of Taiwan. Participants explore the unique ways Taiwan has responded to challenges all modern societies face while gaining a better understanding of an increasingly important region of the world. The program is hosted by National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei City.

The Chengdu program offers intensive language study fulfilling up to 2 years of language requirements in only 1 semester. Additional courses in art history, economics, anthropology, political science, environmental health, sociology, literature, history, and calligraphy are taught in English and offer a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the complexities of China and Asia.
