Volunteer in Central America Come experience a cultural immersion while participating in a volunteer program! ELI partners with local organizations in Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala to match volunteers with local organizations. All placements are made on an individual basis depending on the skills and goals of the volunteer, the needs of the organization, and the length of the program. Possible volunteer projects include animal rescue, turtle breeding, at-risk youth, orphanage, teaching, adult-education, special needs kids, construction, environmental conservation and more! Teach Fun, Informal English Classes & Adventure Travel! VAYA's trips are customized for each volunteer with a balance of teaching, learning, cultural experience and adventure travel. We teach English classes that are accessible to all children in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. The English program is based on learning through play so no previous teaching experience is required. EcoLogic Development Fund
Forwards relevant resumés from students and professionals (written in Spanish) to partner organizations in Central America, looking for interns and volunteers in the fields of conservation, community development, and social justice. Minimum attachment is normally 3 months in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.
SCI (Service Civil International) SCI is an exchange organization that sends volunteers on 2-3 week international work projects and long term 3-12 month opportunities in over 50 countries, including many in Central America. For all overseas camps the fee is US$235. Workcamps include shared accommodations, group self-cooked meals and basic health/accident insurance, without additional cost, unless otherwise noted in the camp description. SCI promotes voluntary service to impact social, environmental and humanitarian issues.
