Teach English in China

Jobs, Programs and Guides

Map of China

The huge Chinese nation remains very motivated to learn English, regardless of current political issues. For decades, there has been a flow of native speakers from the West teaching at private and public schools and academic institutions around the country. The growing middle and upper classes in China aspire to send their children for private English instruction to expand their career opportunities. As a result, many teaching opportunities are available in China, and the options are usually generous. In many cases, teachers receive free airfare, a good salary, and benefits. Wages are best in the big international cities (Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai) where there are scores of English schools, but there are other cities and large towns in different climates, each with unique cuisines and cultures, offering plenty of jobs.
