Broadreach Summer Adventures for Middle School, High School and College Students
Since 1993, Broadreach has taken over 12,000 students on their worldwide summer adventure learning programs for middle school, high school and college students. Their 75+ program offerings include marine biology, scuba, sailing, language immersion, medicine, culture, arts, community service, outdoor skills and leadership adventures. Programs are located in 40+ countries including the Caribbean, Central and South America, Canada, Australia, China, India, South Africa, France, Thailand, the Solomon Islands and Fiji. Many Broadreach programs qualify for college credit and all incorporate a community service ranging from 5-55 hours. Multiple certifications including PADI scuba certifications, IYT certifications, and Wilderness First Responder are also offered through many of their programs.

Cultural History Tours Summer Programs

IHP – International Honors Program
IHP offers theme-based international comparative studies, and provides students with a unique opportunity to combine academics and world travel. Students can choose from 4 interdisciplinary programs. Through travel to multiple sites, each program examines a theme through fields such as anthropology, political science, economics, and environmental studies, in an international context.


Intercultural Communication Institute (ICI)
ICI is a nonprofit, private foundation designed to foster an awareness and appreciation of cultural difference in both the international and domestic arenas. We offer many educational opportunities to learn about intercultural communication, including an MA program in Intercultural Relations, Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC) workshops & certificate program: and IDI qualifying seminars.
ICI maintains a 20,000 – item intercultural resource library year around.

International Service-Learning
The International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership offers intercultral programs which unite volunteer community service and academic study for credit. Program locations include the Czech Republic, Ecuador (Guayaquil, Galapagos, and Quito), England, France, India, Israel, Jamaica, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia, Scotland, South Dakota (with Native Americans), and Thailand. Students earn 12-18 college credits. Language requirements for selected programs. Minimum age 18.

Knowledge Exchange Institute Study and Intern Abroad
KEI offers year, semester, and summer study abroad programs in Australia, Belgium, China, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Russia and Spain and other countries worldwide. Each program offers numerous discipline-specific courses in the English language and include internships. Housing is included and scholarships are offered. KEI specializes in programs for underrepresented disciplines (engineering, math, science, health sciences, tourism, etc.) and also offers programs in business, communications, and humanities.

Middlebury College
For over fifty years, participants in the Middlebury Schools Abroad have not just studied the language, they have lived it as well.
