Primarily a studio art program which includes art history in a small Tuscan hilltown. Three semester hours of university credit for each course taken. Spring and fall terms last about 13 weeks and summer term lasts about 9 weeks. Classes can be taken at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Founded in 1953, the Junior Year in Munich (JYM) is America's oldest academic year abroad program in Germany with 3,400 alumni from 500 colleges and universities across the U.S. JYM enjoys unique status in Germany as an institute at the Ludwig Maximilian Univ. (LMU) of Munich. Students live in German student housing, have the entire LMU curriculum available to them, and receive a Wayne State Univ. transcript for all coursework completed in Munich.
