The Atlas of Canada, atlas.nrcan.gc.ca, published by Natural Resources Canada, provides a large variety of Canadian maps, under the motto "Discover Canada through national maps and facts."

Caribbeean-on-line.com, www.caribbean-on-line.com, provides general Caribbean Maps of all countries and islands in the Caribbean, and also sells these maps.

Google Maps, maps.google.com, is the state-of-the-art in online, interactive mapping.

Maps of India.com, www.mapsofindia.com, provides a variety of maps for India, including political and physical maps.

Maps of the World, www.mapsofworld.com, provides online maps of the world and most countries.

Maps Worldwide, www.mapsworldwide.com, sells maps in all media and travel guides online.

Mapquest, www.mapquest.com, another good mapping portal. Why you would want to find the nearest "Jiffy Lube" to Piazza Navona in Rome is beyond me though!

Microsoft Live Search Maps, maps.live.com, is a new interactive mapping tool with plenty of features similar to Google Maps.

Microsoft's Mappoint, mappoint.msn.com, provides driving directions and maps for any destination around the world.

Mighty GPS, www.mightygps.com, offers gadgets and software for those techies and perpetually curious souls who want to know exactly where they at any given point in time. They also sell more traditional maps for those of us who prefer portable maps.

Omni Resources Map Catalog, www.omnimap.com, has maps in every media format imaginable.

Perry-Castañeda Library, Map Collection from University of Texas at Austin, www.lib.utexas.edu/maps, provides links to maps published by the CIA and many other sources for the regions, countries and capital cities of the world. These maps are larger and much better than those found in the CIA World Factbook.

Standfords, www.stanfords.co.uk, not only has thousands of maps, but provides travel information for locations around the globe in the form of publications.

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, portal.unesco.org, in its World Heritage Center section, lists National Mapping Agencies for many countries around the world, some of them with websites, where detailed maps are often available for free.

United Nations Cartographic Section, www.un.org, provides more than 100 general maps of countries worldwide. Maps are in PDF format for best display and print results.

Urban Rail, www.urbanrail.net, offers subway maps for major cities worldwide.

Via Michelin, www.viamichelin.com, not only has great driving directions, but will also point you in the direction of a great meal, hotel or beautiful drive. Michelin now offers interactive mapping and is PDA accessible.

Yahoo Maps Local, maps.yahoo.com, is an online mapping site which offers useful detailed mapping for many countries around the world.
