This nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization seeks to eliminate poverty around the world by building homes appropriate to each area where a need exists. No building experience necessary. Choose from programs in over 90 countries. The Canada branch alone has over 50,000 volunteers and over 70 affiliates.

The Land Conservancy (TLC) of British Columbia
TLC is a charitable Land Trust with a mission to protect ecologically significant environments as well as properties with historical, cultural, scenic, or recreational value. In picturesque locations across Canada’s westernmost province, TLC offers a variety of 2-day to 1-week “conservation holidays” on eight properties that include small islands, award-winning gardens, large ranches, and ecoforestry sites. For under $160 a week, enjoy socially-rewarding volunteer vacations that include accommodations ranging from tents to cabins and freshly prepared meals and snacks.
