Isabel Eva Bohrer is a freelance writer and photographer who has dispatched pieces from over twenty countries across five different continents. At the tender age of 10 days, she crossed her first international borders, from Switzerland to Germany by way of Austria. Ever since, she has enjoyed immersing herself in foreign cultures, and through her journeys, has been perfecting her fluency in six different languages. Whether teaching English at a bilingual school in Argentina, volunteering at an AIDS clinic in Tanzania or participating in a sustainable tourism seminar in Morocco, Isabel believes in traveling with a purpose.
Equally enthralled by the close-by as the distant, she aspires to share her adventures and advice through her writing. Her work, which ranges from magazine columns to critical academic studies, has been featured in various online and print publications, including scholarly periodicals and catalogues for the Museum of Modern Art in New York. As the Student Advisor for TransitionsAbroad.com, it is her sincere hope to inspire her readers to go overseas.
In 2009, Isabel graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University, majoring in Comparative Literature and Society with a focus on Arts Journalism. She has completed additional graduate coursework at the Rhode Island School of Design, as well as Middlebury College in Madrid, Spain.
In homage to the Spanish capital, she currently publishes MADbudget: The Ultimate Guide to Madrid. Learn more about her work at www.isabelevabohrer.com.
