Marine Expedition in Mexico for Advanced Divers
Improve your scuba diving skills and learn marine conservation techniques by joining GVI's marine conservation program situated north of the Mayan village of Mahahual. At this new center you will receive comprehensive training and increase your knowledge of marine habitats and conservation. Rescue Diver, Dive Master and PADI specialty courses are also available. Activities include coral and fish monitoring surveys and turtle nesting surveys, working with scientists at the field research center. Also participate in awareness projects in the local community.

Annunciation House
For 25 years, Annunciation House has provided hospitality to immigrants and refugees on the US-Mexican border. The organization has grown from the original house, Annunciation House, to also include Casa Vides (a house of hospitality for those seeking political asylum and those with longer-term needs) and Casa Peregrina in Juarez, Mexico (a house of hospitality for women and children). A fourth house, Casa Emaus is located in a squatter’s neighborhood and provides support and space for community building efforts. The volunteer community has also grown to a full-time volunteer staff of 20 volunteers.
